2012-2013 Enrollment Has Started!

Its hard to believe that the 2011-2012 school year is nearly 1/2 over.  It seems like only yesterday, we were meeting around my kitchen table planning our little school.  The last five months have been full of major accomplishments, patience testing conflict, tight budgets, amazing teamwork and pure J-Factor.  Check out this photo to get a glimpse of the J-Factor (Joy Factor) on the faces of two of our scholars.  This was not staged (I swear), they are enjoying a lunch on Grand with Ms. Booten this past Friday:

We are super excited to announce that enrollment has already started for the 2012-2013 school year.  If you know an incoming 5th, 6th or 7th grade student, come on down to visit and see if your scholar is ready to go to college like Vincent and Mark.

Online enrollment takes five minutes.  Just fill out the questionairre and someone from the school will contact you within 24 hours to complete the process and schedule a school tour.

South City Prep Masquerade

This past Thursday, Dec. 8, we hosted our Inaugural South City Prep Masquerade.  The idea of this poetry slam originated from the book that the 6th grade is reading, Bronx Masquerade.

Scholars worked hard to put their great poetry into a book and read their poetry to a captive audience of parents, teachers and peers.

Check out the readings here:
